Our client, a growing enterprise in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, UK , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead their procurement function. This critical role involves developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing key supplier relationships, and driving cost savings across various indirect and direct spend categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global supply chains, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to optimize procurement processes. You will play a key role in ensuring the company has a resilient and cost-effective supply base.
Responsibilities: Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies to align with business objectives. Lead and manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiation. Manage relationships with key suppliers, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring performance against contractual obligations. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, demand management, and process improvements. Analyze market trends and supplier capabilities to identify potential risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain procurement policies and procedures. Manage procurement budgets and forecast future spending. Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their procurement needs. Mentor and develop junior members of the procurement team. Oversee the implementation of procurement technologies and systems. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews. Qualifications: Significant experience (5+ years) in strategic procurement and supply chain management, preferably within a complex organizational structure. Demonstrated success in managing diverse spend categories and complex negotiations. In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing methodologies, and contract law. Experience with e-procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical, financial acumen, and problem-solving skills. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities. MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification is highly desirable. Ability to influence and drive change across the organization. Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings and value. Experience in managing international suppliers is an advantage.
