Senior Procurement Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Our client, a leading organization in its sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Procurement Manager with expertise in strategic sourcing to join their dedicated procurement team. This is a full-time, office-based role located in the historic city of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK . As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize spend, enhance supplier performance, and mitigate supply chain risks across the organization. You will lead cross-functional teams in the sourcing of goods and services, conduct market analysis, negotiate complex contracts, and manage key supplier relationships. Your role will involve identifying cost-saving opportunities, driving value creation, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end sourcing projects, developing category strategies, conducting supplier due diligence and performance management, and implementing best practices in procurement. You will also be involved in managing contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to termination or renewal. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic sourcing and category management, preferably within a complex organizational structure. Strong analytical, negotiation, and contract management skills are essential. You should possess excellent leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels. A relevant professional qualification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS) is highly desirable.
