Our client, a rapidly expanding Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company, is seeking a highly strategic and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their fully remote leadership team. This pivotal role will oversee all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement and logistics to inventory management and distribution, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of goods. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing supply chain strategies that support business growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and maintain competitive advantage. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of FMCG operations, advanced analytical skills, and a proven ability to optimize complex supply chains in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive supply chain strategies to meet business objectives. Oversee and manage all aspects of procurement, warehousing, inventory control, and transportation. Optimize logistics operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products. Implement and manage robust inventory management systems to minimize stockouts and reduce carrying costs. Negotiate with suppliers and service providers to secure favorable terms and ensure quality. Analyze supply chain data to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency gains. Develop strong relationships with internal teams (sales, production, finance) and external partners. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function. Manage and mentor a remote supply chain team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with a strong focus on the FMCG sector. Proven track record of developing and implementing successful supply chain strategies. In-depth knowledge of procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution principles. Proficiency in supply chain planning and management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a remote environment. Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus. Leadership experience and the ability to manage and motivate a team remotely.
